Utah RV notes

There are no posts here yet, and that is a decision rather than an oversight. The explanation is below, along with where the measured material actually sits.
This blog ships empty
Nothing has been published here, and nothing will be until it clears the same bar as every other page on this site: a sourced fact, work actually performed on it, what a renter has to do differently, and what it costs if they do not.
A launch blog is usually where a new site puts ten posts nobody asked for, and most Utah RV posts are a restatement of a National Park Service page. Several of them are restating a page that was superseded. Zion's tunnel permit and ranger escort were abolished on 7 June 2026, yet the $15 fee is still published widely, surviving only on an archived page the Park Service itself banners as archived and dates to 10 October 2009.
Rather than add to that, the research sits on the pages where somebody is actually making a decision. Those are linked below. When a post exists that is worth a renter's time, it will appear here with its sources and the date its figures were measured.
What fits the Mighty 5
Every published RV length limit across Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands and Capitol Reef, compiled as one set and matched against what is listed here. One of those limits appears only in a Superintendent's Compendium.
Utah's 30 day tax line
Utah Code 59-12-102(135) stops calling a rental short-term at 30 consecutive days, so 9.5 points of tax stop applying. A 29 night booking and a 30 night booking are taxed differently at the same nightly rate.
The Class A that cannot reach Zion's east side
Of the 37 Class A units listed near Salt Lake City on 2026-09-18, 15 were longer than the 35 ft 9 in limit the park began enforcing on 7 June 2026. There is no permit to buy any more.
Work the number yourself
The trip cost tool runs the same tax arithmetic either side of day 30, on your own dates and rate, rather than on a median that describes nobody's booking.
What is measured instead
One paginated pull of the Outdoorsy search API within 50 miles of downtown Salt Lake City on 2026-09-18 returned all 610 listings. Every fleet figure on this site comes from that single run, so the numbers agree with each other.
All 610 publish a length. 86 publish a height and 80 publish a width, and those last two are the ones Zion now enforces.
