RV types for rent near Salt Lake City

Class A, B and C motorhomes, camper vans, travel trailers and fifth wheels. Which one you pick changes the nightly price more than your dates do: a Class A RV costs about 2.4 times what a Travel Trailer does here, and two of the six need a vehicle to tow them that is not in the price.
What each class costs here, cheapest first
Median published day rates from one pull of every listing in this market on 2026-09-18. None of these figures includes tax, cleaning, mileage, generator hours or the delivery fee each host sets for themselves. Two of the six are towed, and the vehicle that tows them is neither in the listing nor in the price, so a trailer week costs what the table says only if the pickup is already on your driveway.

How many it has to sleep
307 of the 610 listings sleep six or more. Asking for six beds and a park-legal vehicle at once is where the choice narrows: 108 of them sleep six or more within 28 ft, the cap at both Canyonlands campgrounds, and 15 do it within 20 ft, the bar on Bryce Point Road.
Splitting the party across two rigs does not fix it at Zion, which permits one RV or camping trailer per campsite and a maximum of six people. Book the second site.
Where you plug in at night
No campground inside any of the five Utah national parks has a full hookup, so the tanks and the power you carry are the ones you get. 389 listings publish a fresh water tank, at a median of 40 gallons, and 221 publish none at all. 515 publish a generator or solar and 95 publish neither.
The two classes that suit a forest road best carry the smallest tanks here: a median of 21 gallons for Class B and 22 for a camper van, against 72 for a Class A. Ask the host for the tank sizes if the plan is more than two nights away from a hookup.

Travel Trailer
244 listed, median $119 a night
A travel trailer is a towable you hitch to a pickup or an SUV, unhitch at the campsite and leave there while you drive the tow vehicle into the park. It is the cheapest way into this market by a wide margin: 244 were listed within 50 miles of downtown Salt Lake City on 18 September 2026, from $30 to $375 a night, median $119.
Fifth Wheel
12 listed, median $181 a night
A fifth wheel is the towable with a raised forward bedroom that hitches into the bed of a pickup, and it gives a group of six to ten the most interior space in this market. Supply here is thin: twelve were listed within 50 miles of downtown Salt Lake City on 18 September 2026, from $110 to $275 a night, median $181.
Camper Van
78 listed, median $186.50 a night
A camper van is a van with a bed, a galley and usually no bathroom, and it suits one or two people who would rather drive every road than stand up inside. Seventy-eight were listed within 50 miles of downtown Salt Lake City on 18 September 2026, from $79 to $500 a night, median $186.50.
Class C RV
151 listed, median $219 a night
A Class C is the motorhome built on a van cab with a bed over the cab, and it is the usual choice for a family of four to six who want a bathroom, a kitchen and a vehicle that drives like a large van. It is also the biggest class in this market: 151 were listed within 50 miles of downtown Salt Lake City on 18 September 2026, from $65 to $695 a night, median $219.
Class B RV
58 listed, median $249 a night
A Class B is a factory van converted into a motorhome, which means it parks in an ordinary bay and usually has a toilet and a shower inside it. Fifty-eight were listed within 50 miles of downtown Salt Lake City on 18 September 2026, from $129 to $625 a night, median $249, the second highest median in this market.
Class A RV
37 listed, median $286 a night
A Class A is the bus-shaped motorhome, the largest thing you can drive on an ordinary Utah licence, and it suits a group of six or more who want a separate bedroom, a full bathroom and a kitchen you can stand up in. Thirty-seven were listed within 50 miles of downtown Salt Lake City on 18 September 2026, from $100 to $1,795 a night, median $286, the highest median of any class here.
