A fifth wheel is the towable with a raised forward bedroom that hitches into the bed of a pickup, and it gives a group of six to ten the most interior space in this market. Supply here is thin: twelve were listed within 50 miles of downtown Salt Lake City on 18 September 2026, from $110 to $275 a night, median $181.
Also listed as a fifth-wheel trailer. Every count below is what the hosts in this market publish on their own listings, measured 18 September 2026. A host who publishes nothing is counted as publishing nothing, so confirm anything that decides the trip on the listing itself.
Six to ten, median eight. All twelve listed here sleep six or more, which is the most of any class in this market.
37 ft to 44 ft, median 41.5 ft, the longest median of any class here.
No special licence to tow a fifth wheel in Utah as a personal conveyance. What you need is a pickup with a fifth wheel hitch in the bed, rated for the loaded weight and with the payload to carry the pin weight. This market does not rent the truck, so confirm both figures against your own vehicle before you book.
It pivots over the truck's rear axle rather than behind the bumper, which makes it steadier at speed and tighter in a turn than a travel trailer of the same length. The numbers that stop it are Zion's 50 ft combined limit and its 26 ft hitch to rear axle limit, and at a 41.5 ft median this class has no realistic truck length left inside the first of them.
Every listing sets its own inventory. Confirm on the listing rather than assuming any of this is present on the unit you book.

A fifth wheel is a trailer, so Utah's 2.5 percent motor vehicle rental tax does not apply and Salt Lake County's off-highway and recreational vehicle rental column is blank. Grand County and Washington County both show 7 percent.
Utah Code 59-12-102(135) defines a short-term rental as less than 30 consecutive days, so at 30 consecutive days the rental tax stops applying. It is a definition rather than a discount, which is why a 29 night booking and a 30 night booking are not the same shape of bill. Only 4.6 percent of the 610 listings measured on 18 September 2026 accept a long term booking at all, so the cliff is only reachable on a small part of the market.
Work a real trip through the cost calculatorThese come straight from the marketplace, so the set changes between visits. They are published by their owners and booked on the marketplace that published them. This site holds no vehicles and takes no bookings. The live feed labels toy haulers as fifth wheels too, so the set below can include the 22 toy haulers measured in this market.
1 of the 1 listed below publish a length, counted here against the three published bars that turn a vehicle around outright:
0 of 1 at or under 20 ft
0 of 1 at or under 21 ft
1 of 1 at or under 35 ft 9 in
Length only. Zion also enforces 7 ft 10 in of width and 11 ft 4 in of height, and 80 of the 610 listings in this market publish a width. Ask the host for both in writing.
Some links on this page are affiliate links. A booking made after following one earns this site a commission from the marketplace. The commission is paid by the marketplace, adds nothing to your price, and does not change which listings appear here.
The limits below are the ones that bind this class, and each links to the park page carrying the quote and the agency URL. Length is the only dimension a listing reliably publishes. Zion measures width and height as well, and what that does to a booking is set out on the home page.
All twelve exceed 35 ft 9 in alone, and the 50 ft combined limit leaves 8.5 ft for the truck at the median. This is not a route for the class.
Both campgrounds cap at 28 ft and none of the twelve fits. The Elephant Hill Access Road at 21 ft is out for the whole class.
Devils Garden sites run 20 to 40 ft on one park page and up to 30 ft on another, and there are no hookups anywhere in the park.
Bryce Point Road and Paria View Road close to anything over 20 ft. Park the rig and take the truck, or use the park shuttle.
11 of the 12 Fifth Wheel listings measured on 18 September 2026 offer delivery, and 67.9 percent of the whole market does. The host sets the fee, the radius and whether they will drop at a campground or only at an address. This site owns no vehicles and drives nothing, so everything about the handover is agreed with the host on the listing.
If you are flying in, the two published numbers that matter are the airport parking garage at 8 ft 6 in of clearance and the terminal pick-up drive at 13 ft. The airport states that oversized vehicles must make special arrangements and pay additional fees, and it does not publish the amount anywhere. Arrange the handover somewhere other than the garage.
This business has no answered line and takes no bookings. Listings book on the marketplace that published them.
Every listing in this market publishes a length. 80 of 610 publish a width, and width is what Zion measures, mirrors included. Ask the host for it in writing, because an answer you can point at later has to be written down anyway.
