RV rental insurance in Utah

The protection on a marketplace booking is the marketplace's, and on almost every listing here you cannot change it. It comes attached to the vehicle you chose, which makes it a thing to check before you pick one rather than after.

What the listings say about it

604 of 610
approved for the marketplace protection
6
marked ineligible, where it does not attach at all
8
where the renter may choose the level

That middle figure is small and worth knowing anyway. Six listings in this market are flagged ineligible for the marketplace protection, which means a booking on one of them is a private arrangement with the owner and whatever you bring to it yourself.

The third figure is the one that changes how you shop. On 602 of the 610 listings the protection level is fixed to the vehicle, so somebody who cares about the level has to choose the vehicle for it. Deciding afterwards is not an option that exists.

Why there are no figures on this page

You will find articles quoting liability limits, deductible tiers and the names of the companies behind them. This site does not repeat any of it, because the pages that would confirm it are not readable to anything but a browser: both the Outdoorsy protection plans page and its help centre refuse an automated request.

A number about somebody else's insurance policy, copied from a third party and published without checking, is the most expensive kind of wrong this site could be. The terms attached to your booking are shown at checkout and they depend on the listing and your dates. Read them there, and if the answer matters, read them before you pay rather than after.

Questions about cover

The protection on a marketplace booking comes from the marketplace, not from this site, which insures nothing and arranges nothing. Of the 610 listings measured near Salt Lake City, 604 are approved for that protection and 6 are marked ineligible, so on those six it does not attach at all. Read the protection you are actually being offered at checkout rather than assuming the listing carries one.
Almost never. Only 8 of the 610 listings measured allow the renter to adjust the protection. On the other 602 you take the level attached to that listing, so the cover is a property of the vehicle you picked rather than a decision you make afterwards. If the level matters to you, it is a filter to apply before you fall for a particular RV.
Ask your insurer, in writing, naming the class of vehicle and its weight. A personal auto policy is written around the vehicle you own, and whether it extends to a rented motorhome is a question about your policy rather than about the rental. This site does not publish an answer because there is no general one, and a wrong answer here is the most expensive wrong answer on the site.
Every one of the 610 listings measured is flagged as CoachNet ready and none of them requires it, so roadside is available on this market rather than automatic on it. It is the marketplace's arrangement with its provider, not a service of this site and not something the owner performs. Confirm what is attached to your booking at checkout.
Nothing. It owns no vehicles, takes no bookings, holds no money and issues no policy. It finds listings and reads the rules that govern where they can go. Every protection question is answered by the marketplace and by the owner, and the place to settle it is the listing and the checkout page, before you pay.

Check the protection before you pick the RV

On this market the cover comes with the vehicle. Open the listing, read what is attached to it, and settle anything you are unsure of with the owner in the message thread so the answer is written down.
